Black Hair Color

Black hair is undeniably one of the best looking colors for men, but not everyone can pull it off and make it look good. This doesn’t mean that if you have a darker complexion, you can’t wear black hair at all.

An excellent example of a dark skin male who pulls off black hair color is Dwayne Johnson. This man is extremely popular, partly because he represents the modern version of Hercules – tall, strong and handsome!

The best thing about this shade for you is that it won’t make your darker complexion look any more prominent. The reason behind this is that black hair only adds to the natural darkness of your skin and doesn’t really stand out.

In fact, in most cases completely blackened hair either suits people with lighter skin tones or those who tan easily (like me!).

Brown Hair Color

Brown hair usually makes the best coloring for guys who have a darker complexion. It doesn’t draw attention to your skin tone but instead adds balanced contrast.

This is why a lot of dark skin males go for blonde highlights in their brown locks they do it to break the monotony and make it more interesting. It is also a way to use this hair color as an accessory and not have it overwhelm your facial features.

If you want to go for darker shades of brown like brunette, then you should remember not to choose a shade that is too dark, otherwise, it will make your skin look darker than it actually is.

And if you’re considering highlights, keep in mind that this hair color type works best with natural looking highlights and messy or uneven ones.

If you want to avoid experimenting on your hair, then you should go for brown as it will make the most difference with your skin tone.

Blonde Hair Color

Blonde hair looks great on both dark and light skin males alike – but if you have a darker complexion, there are some things you should consider before you go for it.

The first thing is that blonde hair only looks good on fair skinned individuals, and I can’t emphasize this enough! If you’re very dark or tan easily, then this color choice isn’t for you. In fact, light hair and pale skin in most cases look better than fair with those of darker complexions.

The second thing is that blonde hair only works for you if you do NOT have any lighter or darker patches in your skin tone, otherwise it will end up looking artificial and botched. This means that you should go for this color choice only if your skin is evenly dark, or else a different hue might look better on you.

If you’re still sure that blonde hair is the right choice for you, then make sure to go for a lighter shade than your natural one. This will avoid you from doubling up on the darkness with your skin tone, and it will still look good!

Red Hair Color

Red hair color can be one of the best options if you want to go for something that is unlike other hair colors. Even dark skin males can wear this coloring, and you will look equally masculine in it as people with lighter complexions! The red hair color looks good on most dark complexion men because the contrast is balanced enough to not make your skin tone stand out too much.

There are a lot of shades that dark skinned men can go with. I recommend you to choose a red hair color that isn’t too bright or light because this will make your darker complexion stand out even more. Instead of going for the classic auburn shade, if you want something unique then why not try burgundy? Go for it if you really want to draw attention to your facial features and not your skin tone.

Light red hair color can look good on you as well, but you have to make sure that it’s a shade lighter than the darkest spot in your complexion. This way, the pink tones will balance out the darkness of your skin.

Gray Hair Color

Gray hair color can look a lot better on dark skin males than you’d think. It still draws attention to your facial features, but it’s more subtle than the other colors in this article.

This is why gray highlights work really well for those of darker complexions because they will break up any monotony while still working with your natural coloring. The only thing I don’t recommend about using grey as a base and adding highlights is that it might make your skin tone stand out too much, and will also take away from the rest of your facial features. So if you want to avoid standing out like that, then stick to choosing all gray or half-gray instead!

As far as shades go, choose one that is lighter than the darkest patch on your skin. This way, you will still have some contrast but not as much as a darker tone would give. If you end up with an all gray hair color, then make sure that it isn’t too dark or the darkness of your complexion will take away from the rest of your features.

Jet Black Hair Color

Jet black hair color can be one of the best options if you want something really sleek and stylish! The only thing to keep in mind if you’re going for this coloring is that there are certain things that don’t go well with its striking appearance especially when it comes to selecting clothes and other items in your outfit!

If you wear anything other than black, people will automatically focus on the colors you don’t wear. This will take away from your facial features, and make you look worse than if you were to use a lighter hair color instead.

Ash Brown Hair Color

Ash brown is one of those colors that can work really well with most dark skinned males! It’s subtle enough to not distract from other parts of your features while being noticeable at the same time.

This means simple accessories like jewelry or a scarf can be used for extra flair without making it stand out too much. So if you’re bored of going for traditional colors but still want to add some flair to your appearance, then this might just be the right choice for you!

The only thing about ash brown that I don’t recommend is the highlights. If you’re going for the gradient look, then stick to adding highlights that are closer to your natural color! Otherwise, if you choose one that is lighter than the darkest patch on your skin, it might take away from some of the features on your face.

Olive Hair Color

Olive hair color isn’t usually recommended for those with dark complexions because it might stand out too much. However, a light olive tone can still work for dark skin males, especially when there aren’t many darker patches in their complexion.

This means any lighter olive tones should be okay as long as they don’t have any red or yellow undertones to them! When choosing this color though, remember that both highlights and lowlights will work, unlike with darker colors.

Unfortunately, you will still have to worry about making sure that your hair isn’t too dark because it can’t be helped! This will take away from the rest of your appearance if it’s too noticeable.

Plum Cherry Hair Color

Plum cherry hair color works really well for both dark and light skin because it’s subtle enough to not stand out too much but noticeable enough for people to see!

This makes it great if you are the type of guy who likes to stay on the sidelines instead of being the center of attention. Plus, you can add other colors for flair without making yourself stuck out like a sore thumb! The only thing that I don’t recommend is going for highlights that are lighter than the darkest patch on your skin.

That way, there won’t be any distractions in your appearance, and everything will flow together seamlessly!

Dark Auburn Hair Color

A dark auburn hair color will definitely take some getting used to if you’re new to this type of dye! Since it’s not too dark and not too light, you’ll have a bit of work trying to make sure that the color is even all over your hair.

However, if you can get past those first few weeks of adjusting to your new look, then I highly recommend that you go for this vivid hue. It works really well with almost all skin tones, especially warmer ones like tanned or yellow ones! Plus, it adds a lot of character to your appearance which some people might appreciate (even if that means attracting more attention).

Honey Blonde Hair Color

Honey blonde hair color brings back memories of golden-haired male models from years ago. The only difference is that honey blonde is a bit more subtle than those gold-blond colors.

So if you’re okay with your hair standing out for being noticeable, but not too bright then I highly recommend that you go for honey blonde! It works really well with darker complexions because it’s just subtle enough to not take away from the other aspects of your facial features. The only thing I don’t recommend with this color is going for any darker highlights.

This will end up taking away from some of the other features on your face, and might make people focus on them instead of what you’re trying to get across with your look!

Mocha Brown Hair Color

Mocha brown can be considered one of the most commonly dark brown hair colors because it’s one of the few shades that can work for any skin tone!

If you’re trying to cover up a lot of areas on your head, or if you just want to dye a part of your hair this shade, then consider mocha brown! It brings out the warmth in darker complexions while not looking too artificial with lighter complexions. It won’t turn out as hot and artificial-looking as some other colors might do.

Otherwise, it will stand out too much against your natural color if you have any and might end up looking out of place.

Golden Hue Blonde Hair Color

Golden hue blonde is a great alternative to honey blonde if you want something that’s a bit more vibrant! It’s not so focused on brown undertones, but instead on the gold-yellow ranges.

This will give your appearance a warmer feel and draw attention to other aspects of your look than just your hair. You can definitely go for this color if you don’t mind having more people focus their attention on something else besides you.

Burgundy Hair Color

If you like taking risks and want to try something a bit more unique, then consider going for burgundy! It’s not common in most places, but it may be just unique enough to catch your attention.

Thankfully, this deep base color won’t make your hair too noticeable because of all the complex reddish tones. Plus, it brings out warm undertones which is great if you have darker skin (since orange-reds work well with warmer complexions). Just steer clear from any golden highlights or ash blonde shades because they’ll take away from some of these other lighter hues in the burgundy shade.

I hope this article has given you a better understanding of the best hair color for dark skin males.

There are so many options out there and it can be difficult to know what will look good on your own head. Keep these tips in mind when trying to decide which one is right for you!
